1. What can I send in?

Send us any of the following:

  • Receipts you have paid
  • Invoices you have paid
  • Credit card slips
  • Bank transfer receipts you have paid
  • The summary page of bills

2. What shouldn't I send in?

For the moment we ask you not to send us any of the following:

  • ATM withdrawal slips
  • Paperwork regarding recurring payments
  • Anything showing complete credit card numbers
  • Bank, credit card or Oyster card statements

3. What information will you extract for me from my receipts?

We extract the supplier's name, the date, the total amount and the VAT amount (if present) and put all this good stuff into a handy table for you.

4. Can I carry my unused receipts forward to following months?

Yes. We'll automatically credit your unused receipts to later months. Send in your receipts whenever is most convenient for you.

5. How accurate is ReceiptFarm?

We go to great lengths to make sure we capture the information from your receipts correctly. We aim to be more accurate than you would be yourself. That said, we're not perfect. If you do spot a mistake, please let us know. We're constantly improving our processes and your feedback helps us do that.

6. Can I send you my receipts using recorded delivery?

Yes. We provide you with envelopes that are pre-addressed and pre-paid for standard postage. If you need an extra level of protection (if you're sending a whole year's worth of receipts, for example) you are welcome to send your receipts to us using a premium service such as Royal Mail's recorded delivery.

7. I've lost that nice ReceiptFarm envelope you sent me. What should I do?

Just send us an email (support [at] receiptfarm [dot] com) and we'll get a new one out to you.

8. Is ReceiptFarm secure?

Yes, we take security very seriously. Our security measures include the use of 256-bit SSL encryption when sending data between your browser and our server.

9. Can I export my data?

Yes, you can export your data at any time to Microsoft Excel or any application supporting the common .csv file format.

10. Can I export scanned images of my receipts?

Yes, you can export them to a .PDF file (handy as a backup or to send to your accountant).

11. Are scanned images of receipts sufficient as proof?

Yes. The HMRC now accepts scanned images of receipts as evidence of spending.

12. Can I change my subscription at any time?

Yes. You're not tied into any long-term contract. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel your subscription whenever you like by clicking a link on your profile page. We want you to stay with us because our service is one you love!

13. What happens to all my data if I cancel my subscription?

It'll remain available to you for a minimum of 12 months. You can export it to Excel, .PDF, etc. whenever you like. Alternatively, let us know and we'll delete your data for you.

14. Why do you need my debit/credit card number if the trial is free?

The UK has recently introduced some tight regulations designed to prevent money laundering and funding of terrorist organisations. Tying a payment method to online accounts helps mitigate risks in this area.

15. What if I am a terrorist or would like to fund one?

Sorry, but ReceiptFarm is not for you.
